The Uttar Pradesh government has scrapped caste-based reservations in post graduate courses in private medical and dental colleges in the state.
The decision to do away with reservations was taken by the previous Akhilesh Yadav government, however, the order was put on hold.
Yogi government, in a month after assuming power, has passed an order to scrap quota for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) in private medical colleges.
Yogi government, on April 11, took a set of important decisions over a range of issues in Uttar Pradesh, which included education too.
It suggested introduction of English Language from Nursery and introduction of yoga and self-defence courses in the schools.
Besides, the government is also pushing for foreign language in the school curriculum.
